Baby, It's Cold Outside

Merry Christmas... Happy 24th Birthday to Me... and Happy New Year!!!

I love December. With all the holiday joy and festivities, I don't see how any one can not love it! I live in Maryland, so December is usually a very cold month for us (usually being the key word). In the past years my Reynard's syndrome has always gone crazy in the winter months. I could walk outside and right back in and my hands would loose all circulation within minuets and then it would take a long time for circulation to return. Luckily this winter hasn't been so harsh. Surprisingly this winter I've only has a few instance where my Reynard's was active. I'm grateful and definitely not complaining. I can live with out my fingers going numb and tingly every time I go in and out the door! Besides the Raynard's I typically am more achy during the winter. And if I catch a cold, I'm down and out hard. To keep warm I do the following:

- Wear tights or leggings under my jeans
- Double up on socks
- Boots, boots, and more boots
- Wear scarves and gloves (invest in a good pair of gloves; dollar gloves only work so well, and if you have Lupus, you really need the protection)
- Drink warm fluids when going out, thermos mugs are great
- Layers (tank top, t-shirt, sweater, jacket, THEN coat!)

Any other ways you guys keep warm during the winter?

Stay Positive : )
